"Stimulating Math Learning through Children's Literature"
Tuesday July 22, 2025 3:04pm - 4:00pm CDT
Come discover the magic of blending storytelling with math and leave with ideas to transform your classroom into a space where both literature and numbers come to life!

Students who love good literature can often face challenges when it comes to mathematics, even our gifted students. However, research shows that integrating engaging stories and books can be a powerful tool to spark curiosity and enhance mathematical understanding for all students.
In this session, we’ll explore ways to nurture a love for both literature and mathematics to support all students, including Emergent Bilingual students.
Join us as we discuss creative strategies to integrate math concepts into your existing literature-based curriculum. Learn how to use beloved children’s books to bring abstract math concepts to life, making them more accessible and engaging for all learners. You’ll walk away with practical ideas that align with ELAR (English Language Arts and Reading) and Mathematics TEKS.
