Diversifying engineering and technology applications in the energy sector broadens the portfolio of resources available to Texans, as well as the global population. Participants will learn how hydraulic fracturing is used to obtain oil and natural gas and how the same technology is being used to develop geothermal energy projects. The session will include hands-on activities that focus on new approaches to expanding renewable energy production. Participants will also learn how careers in both applications overlap, providing future career opportunities. All resources are correlated to the 24-25 TEKS and AP Environmental Science standards.
